AlteredPapercraft was created as a way to document and share paper project ideas and steps with other likeminded crafters. A few years ago, I took a class on artistic bookmaking and watched several YouTube videos on bookbinding. I enjoyed both very much. After making several sketchbooks, I decided I wanted to learn to make other things from paper. Searching the internet, I found several websites and YouTube videos describing how to make paper beads from scrapbook paper, magazines, and junk mail. I enjoyed this very much as well and made several strings of beads. After that, I searched the internet for my next project and ended up modifying a paper pendant project by using scrapbook paper and reused food boxes. Eventually, I realized that having all these projects on one website would be incredibly helpful and decided to make it happen.
My goal with this site is to share paper crafts I discover, modify, or create with the world and to have my visitors share their experiences and their crafts with me as well. I hope you find this to be a fun and creative place to learn and share all the crafts (paper and otherwise) that you enjoy! Welcome to AlteredPapercraft!
