Here at AlteredPapercraft, I experiment with paper in old, new, and interesting ways, with the goal of improving existing crafts or creating entirely new ones. I aim to have fun with all of my projects whether I’m using brand new paper or repurposing used paper.

I hope you’ll join my adventures, while learning and sharing along the way as well! Thanks for visiting!

  • How to Make a Paper Cup Envelope
This project is a quick one that describes how I modify an origami cup pattern to make an envelope for my small craft projects when I sell at craft fairs. It can be used to hold any number of things, including special notes, confetti, or googly eyes!
  • How to Make a Paper Bead Bracelet
Making jewelry from your paper beads is simple! In this tutorial, I use tubular beads I made from my child’s art to make a fun bracelet! Follow along to make a bracelet for yourself or as a gift. This project can be completed with a few supplies in about an hour.
  • How to Make Bottle Cap Magnets and Pins
Bottle cap magnets and pins are so much fun to make, and I love that they make use of the bottle caps I already have around my home. If you already have a stash of bottle caps that you don’t know what to do with, I highly suggest this craft. Not only is it fun, but it’s a great and inexpensive craft to give to your friends and family for holidays. I hope you’ll give it a try!
  • How to Make Paper Pendants
I like this paper pendant project because it’s easy, inexpensive, and helpful for the environment. They are fun to make and the choices for the top decoration are limited only by your imagination. While these instructions cover only using a circle of cardstock for the top visual, you could punch a circle out of anything you like, including your own art. Have fun and get creative with it!
  • My Favorite Paper Crafts
I greatly enjoy working with paper crafts. My favorite paper crafts include paper beads, paper pendants, paper bottlecap magnets and pins, and bookbinding. What I like most about these crafts is that they are inexpensive and can be done from the comfort of my own home with supplies I can find at the craft store. I also like that I can reuse food packaging for most of these crafts, so I know I’m helping the environment as I craft too.
  • How to Make Paper Beads
Making paper beads is one of my favorite paper crafts. I enjoy the calming effect of rolling the beads around the bead roller and the satisfaction of seeing how patterned paper I chose turns out in bead form. I often roll beads while watching television. It is a satisfying craft that I would recommend to anyone.
